What is it with hydrofoil watercraft? This is at least the third vehicle we've seen this week. This one is probably one of the most amusing. It works by jumping up and down like a monkey on the platform of the hydrofoil. Kind of like those Orange Julius girls do with the lemonade. Do they still exist? Orange Julius? God, we used to stare at the OJ girls in the malls for hours. To be young again. From Hammacher Schlemmer:
Unlike other watercraft, this unique hydrofoil frame allows you to skim across water simply by hopping gently up and down, propelling you as fast as 17 mph (more than four times faster than some world champion freestyle swimming speeds). At only 26 lbs., the lightweight aircraft aluminum and fiberglass frame is easy to transport to a dock or boat for launch.
Oohhh, imagine how cool I'd look racing around my local trout lakes on one of these babies.
I can see it already - a fly rod strapped to my back, my stubby little legs pumping furiously, and a long line of female-admirer-occupied boats strung out behind me...
