We kind of got tired of waiting around for an invite from the guys at Trout Underground or Fly Fishing In Yellowstone to learn how to fly fish, so we took it upon ourselves to get started. First step find some gear. Next step will be watching Brad Pitt in A River Runs Through It, final step will be going out to the closest river and reeling them in by the dozen. That's our plan anyway. So, again, since the aforementioned expert blogs haven't posted anything recently about starter gear, we had to turn to the big corporate peeps at Canoe and Kayak who recommend these accessories:
- Temple Fork Outfitters Rods
- XTools Floating Pliers and Dehookers
- Simms Gore-Tex WindStopper Half- Finger Gloves
- SealLine Seal Pak
- Fisknat Steelhead Pontoot Net
- Simms Dry Creek Duffel
- Garmin 250C Fishfinder
Obviously the article is aimed at fishing from a canoe or kayak since there are no waders. Which we want just so we can walk around the neighborhood in them waving our fly rods around and saying things like
"The world is full of bastards - the number ever increasing the further I get from Missoula Montana!" or
"I am haunted by waters." It really freaks the neighbors out when we do that.
