My wife and I watched this cam for about 1/2 hour tonight and at the peak counted 17 Grizzlies catching salmon in the McNeil River. Far fewer than the 72 recorded in 1999, but it was really mesmerizing to watch. The 114,400-acre McNeil River State Game Sanctuary is evidently one of the best places to watch grizzlies in the world but only about 250 people are allowed in per year. For those of us that can't make the live show, the web cam is as close as we'll get to seeing Grizzly Bear Fishing School. The cam runs 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and has 8 pre-sets that automatically pan to where the bears are expected to be. In the afternoon an interpreter at the Pratt Museum controls the camera. Truly spectacular. Here is the direct link to the web cam (make take up to a minute to load. be patient). You'll need the latest RealPlayer version to play it. If you want to learn more about the bears visit the National Geographic mini-site devoted to the McNeil River grizzlies.
