Look Like A Badass In Bear Grylls' Clothing Line

I just returned from a long road trip, wondering what I might put on the GOBlog Monday morning, when lo and behold, my first-ever catalog from the Bear Grylls Store fell out of my mailbox. Whatever you think of the dude's show and his credibility, I'm not really seeing anything in here that looks much different than most Ex Officio travel/hiking clothing. It definitely claims to be awesome, though, and shows Bear kicking truckloads of ass, doing things like "free climbing in Yosemite" and chillaxin' in the "vast expanse of the Sahara Desert." There are 14 photos of Bear in action, and he has dirt or mud smeared on his face in 7 of them. More at BearGryllsStore.com.

Saw the Bear clothing line and was disappointed that it was pretty heavyweight stuff. Although with a big price and lifetime guarantee, I guess it would have to be overbuilt, thus heavier than needed.

I have actually ordered a few things from this catalog. It is put out by a company named Craghoppers, and they sell the Bear Grylls line of clothing along with their own line of travel and expedition clothing. While some of the fleece products are a little heavy, I was very happy with the survival pants and the adventure shirts. They seem to be made very well and look great. Sizing is a real issue as the standard UK sizes are about 1 full size smaller than traditional American sizes. I am 5'10' and weigh 170, and I had to order size L in the shirts, size XL in the fleece. The pants are true to size as they are measured in inches. If you are not a currently a customer, you can get 20% off your first order with no shipping costs - this is a great deal if you see a few things you want to buy. I have also seen a few of these items show up new w/tags on e-Bay at a lower cost than that in the catalog.
