Nothing pisses me off more than having to reach all the way around to my spine while trying to get something off the front left gear loop of my harness, because it only has one buckle in the front and thus adjusts asymetrically. I am not a large man, 32-inch waist. Why does this happen?
Give me two buckles on the waist, that's all I ask.
I realize the
Wild Country Elite Syncro harness has been around for a while, but I just got my first one, the new version with a few improvements, so bear with me while I gush about it. This thing is an f-ing Cadillac. (I'm not reviewing this as some insider who gets free gear -- I got this as a birthday gift.)
Pre-doubled-back Ziplock buckles on the waist and leg loops. SEVEN gear loops, plus a rated haul loop and two rated accessory loops. A "Wear Indicator" on the belay loop and both tie-in points.
If you are like me, you'll like this harness. I usually:
- Climb routes that are more than one pitch in length
- Will take a No. 3 Camalot up anything, sometimes a No. 4
- Clip a camera somewhere on my harness
- Only carry alpine draws
- Do not climb with my shirt off
