I spent the weekend at the Ouray Ice Festival in Ouray, Colo., and can report a few things:
- Some dude made a g-string out of nothing but carabiners and quickdraws, and wore it to the amusement of other dudes at the Beach Party at the Elks Lodge in Ouray on Saturday night.
- Conrad Anker, who is a columnist for Climbing magazine, apparently doesn't know how to pronounce the name of Majka Burhardt, another Climbing magazine columnist -- as he demonstrated repeatedly while announcing Saturday's competition.
- A little shop called Mouse's Chocolates in Ouray makes the greatest cookies in the world.
- Josh Wharton, of Colorado, won the mixed competition, and Dawn Glanc won the women's comp.
