I've never done a via ferrata, but I have climbed a ladder while wearing my climbing harness and helmet, so I think I pretty much get it. Mountain Torq, a via ferrata on Mt. Kinabalu in Mt. Kinabalu National Park, has been open since September. The Mountain Torq website says it's "
the world's highest and Asia's very first via ferrata." The ferrata starts at 3,200 meters (that's 10,500 feet in American currency) and takes you to 3,800 meters (12,467 feet American), about 1,000 feet shy of the summit. If you happen to find yourself on Borneo with nothing to do, sounds like it might be a good way to pass the time.
