
Here's a tip. If you're over 40, rarely ride a bike, aren't particularly athletic, and live in a fly over state, perhaps riding 38 miles down a volcano on a two lane road isn't the best idea. Maybe a walk on the beach or a hike to a waterfall should be considered. Seems enough people, 3 this year, are dying riding down Haleakala's two lane road, that the NPS has suspended the popular pastime while it evaluates it's future. Com'on guys, how about a water slide? Or a petting zoo? Something "safe" like that. Via
