Our coverage of heated gear just rolls on. Kind of like Bears who are now #2 in the nation, which of course only means it will be tragic when they don't even finish in the Top 20. They do it every time. But we digress, next up in our heated clothing theme are Scarpa's heated footbeds, the Grizu. These we understand more than the jackets, especially for people with bad circulation or little feet. Like midgets. Unlike some of the other heated clothing, the Grizu have a thermostat that uses a microprocessor to regulate the heat based on the outside temperature. Smart. Probably breaks in a year, but smart nevertheless. The thermostat keeps the temp at 38 celsius, but a remote control lets you increase the heat to whatever you want. The lithium batteries are rechargeable. Things do everything but mix you a drink in the lodge. Via
