Can't think of a sub-culture that hates to be co-opted more than bike messengers. Nothing worse than seeing your lifestyle turned into an Old Navy tshirt. Well, perhaps there is something worse. Like being kidnapped by North Koreans from your home in Japan when you're 15 and forced into service as a Japanese tutor for 30 years. That could be worse we suppose. But reading this post in Mess Magazine you'd think Old Navy had shot the pope or something. But we appreciate the sentiment. The post reads:
Is this the result of 'legitimacy' or being the victims of a fashion trend?
Old Navy, founded in 1994. "Messenger Race 1989."
I'm not going to say anything else about it.
Threats of beatings, lockings, and urinations are absolutely true.
Urination? Nice. Bike messengers may not be the smartest, but they know how to have a good time. Urination!
