We usually mock anything and everything that has to do with the Seven Summits. It's all absurd. But we'll cut Jeanne Stawiecki some slack. First because her last name is Polish and we all know Climb_Ca has a fondness for Poles. Second, she's 56 and not looking to become some kind of sponsor/press shill. We couldn't even find a personal website for her. Third her quest to climb the summits and run a marathon on each continent are part of some kind of life affirming health crisis overcome huge obstacles because I used to be really fat and couldn't walk, so that has some merit. Fourth she a GLM. There's probably a 5th, but 4 should suffice.
On February 26, 2007, Jeanne Stawiecki completed the Antarctica Marathon, setting a new world record for females, completing marathons on seven continents in 141 days. This breaks the previously set record by 68 days. In March, she sets her sights on Mt. Everest. If successful, she will become the first woman in the world to summit the highest peak and complete a marathon on each of the seven continents. At age 56, she may well also be the oldest woman to reach the seven summits.
