We're sure there is a very persuasive argument why someone would support the construction of an open-pit coal mine in the Flathead River Valley. Some kind of appeal to an irrational fear of being
dependent on foreign oil controlled by swarthy non-believers perhaps. Or some ridiculous economic stimulus argument. You know, all those welfare bums would now have high paid union jobs digging for coal. And of course a bogus environmental impact statement by some "expert" who just happened to be the 2nd cousin twice removed of the owner of the strip mine. Something really persuasive like that. Well, we don't even need to read it. We'll err on the side of the environment as per usual and
believe the NRDC when they write:
If constructed, the mine would destroy this unspoiled wilderness by degrading water quality, killing migratory trout species and jeopardizing threatened grizzly bear populations.
Granted, it's completely idiotic for Americans to be urging Canadians to be doing anything when it comes to the environment, but well we're idiots and are all right with being hypocrites. Finally, if you're hesitant to send an email, rest assured that this cause has been fully vetted by Trout Underground and he even timed the submission process at 18 seconds. Which mans he probably can't type, since it took us about 5...Sign the Save The Flathead Valley Petition.
