Lib Tech continues to pour on the innovation, the latest a curved board shaped much like, you guessed it, a banana. As Lib Tech likes to point out, a snowboard is not a ski, so why does it need camber? Camber, the concave "bow" in a ski that ensures the ski is flush with the snow when you step into a binding, doesn't achieve the result on a snowboard because the weight is on the ends of a snowboard. So, Lib Tech has created a convex curve or "banana" that flattens out when you step in the binding, the same way a ski does. Add their Magne Traction and the end result is a board that "is loose and catch free, presses boxes, rails and jibes extremely well with the preset rocker, maintains pop with stiffened tip and tail, and turns easily on hardpack when the built in rocker is put on edge.
