Just so everyone is aware, the tents were not recalled due to extreme fire hazard. Actually the only problem was that the labeling attached to the tent bag was the European version that had different standards than U.S. The tents were in fact up to U.S. code, it was merely a matter of mislabeled product.
In addition, from what I've been able to tell, being somewhat inside these events, this issue and the unprofessional reaction to it by the U.S. CEO was the last in a series of events that led to the U.S. shops being closed. Decathlon markets itself very differently in Europe than would work in the U.S. At a time when sporting goods stores were proliferating, poor marketing itself would have forced the stores to close.

This is a shame when you consider that many of Decathlons products, which they manufacture themselves, including the 2 Second Tent are international design award winners.

I own a 2 Second Tent, have used it every time I've gone camping and there are no issues with flammability. While it is a tight squeeze and not really suitable for 2 adults, I'd recommend it as a great 1-person or children's tent and would be thrilled to be able to get my hands on the larger 3 Second Tent.
