Round of applause for Dean please. I guess. Though being named
Nat Geo's Adventurer of the Year seems a lot like getting one of those trophies from your kids that says,
"World's Best Dad." That being said, if it comes with a nice fat check, we're happy for Dean. He's had a bit of a rough stretch with the whole
Arches fiasco,
divorcing Steph, the
whole monkey masturbation episode. So it's good to see him getting some praise finally. From some place other than GoBlog, that is. Strange thing, though, somewhere along the path to adventure stardom, he went from being one of the world's best rock climbers to something called a
sky flier, because of his base jumping/slacklining/cave living/monkey loving/climbing antics. Whatever, if it gets him into the NY Times and Geo, doesn't matter I guess.
