Glacier NP Hiking 3 Day Sampler

The National Park Service has chosen Glacier Wilderness Guides as the exclusive backpacking guide service in Glacier National Park. All trips feature friendly, experienced guides, quality equipment, and homemade backpacking meals, and, of course, a comprehensive knowledge of Glacier.

With over 700 miles of trails in the Park, the choices for hikes are extensive, and we offer trips to accommodate all ability levels. If you do not see a trip that fits your needs, tell us your wishes and we can customize an itinerary. From a three-day trek, to a week in the wilderness, we have the right trip for you. We hike approximately six to eight miles per day with an average pack weight of 35 to 40 pounds. Groups are limited to seven guests and the guide. Guides carry most of the food and all of the cooking equipment. Guests carry personal camping gear, clothing, accessories and some food. If you are worried about carrying the weight or have youngsters who need help, ask about our sherpa service - basically, you can hire an extra guide to carry up to 50 lbs. of your gear.

All of our backpacking trips visit remote parts of the Park, but for several reasons we can't guarantee a particular hike ahead of time. We must take into account the interests and abilities of our guests, snow conditions, trail crew work, trail closures, and availability of backcountry camping sites.
