This trip into the Wingate section of the Escalante River is rich in Anasazi and cowboy culture, tapestried Wingate sandstone walls and beautiful benches above. In this remote part of the river the canyon is deep and narrow. We'll find routes on the benches, explore two side canyons on our day hikes and, best of all, have time to relax and enjoy the beautiful area. In order to explore the country and accommodate different interests all day hikes vary & often we split into smaller groups as abilities and interests vary.
