Summit Weather: Plan for changeable conditions. Temperatures commonly range between 40F-65F, but with wind chill can be below freezing at any time of year! Intense sunlight, thick clouds, heavy rain, and high winds are possible, all on the same day. Wear layered clothing. Reduced oxygen at high elevations may pose a problem for some.

Kipahulu Weather: Usually warm. Rain is common. Flash flooding of pools and streams can be hazardous to swimmers and hikers. Always check with park rangers before entering the pools, and never swim if flood warnings are posted. Plan for mosquitos!
