Gates of the Arctic National Park The south side of the Brooks Range below 2500 feet is a sub-arctic climate zone. June through September is the wettest time of year; thunderstorms are common. Snow falls every month except July. The north side of the Brooks Range has an arctic climate. There is continuous sunlight for at least 30 days during the summer.
