Sand Dunes State Forest




The Sand Dunes State Forest is located in Central Minnesota in the transition zone between the forested and prairie regions of the state. It consists of over 3,000 acres of rolling oak forest and prairie and 2,700 acres of pine plantations, and provides wildlife habitat, outdoor recreation, and refuge for rare and distinctive species of flora and fauna.

Recommended Activities

  • Hike the Ann Lake Trail through the rolling oak and pine areas of the Bob Dunn Recreation Area.
