Bridger Wilderness ![]() Bridger Wilderness is located in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The 428,169 acre wilderness extends approximately 80 miles along the Continental Divide on the western slope of the Wind River Mountain Range in Wyoming. This range contains 48 summits higher than 12,500 feet, including Gannett Peak, the highest point in Wyoming. Seven of the largest glaciers in the Rocky Mountains are located in the Wind River Range. More than 2,900 lakes and ponds dot the Bridger Wilderness. Management of the Bridger Wilderness is directed toward preservation of the primitive environment. There are no roads in the Wilderness, and motorized and mechanized equipment, including bicycles are prohibited. As a visitor to the area, you should share the responsibility for protecting the Wilderness. Think carefully and act wisely to protect Wilderness values.
