Oakwood Lakes State Park ![]() Quietly nestled among eight glacial lakes, the 255 acres of Oakwood Lakes State Park feature an historic 1869 log cabin and a variety of special events that recreate life on the pioneer prairie. The Oakwood Lakes area was once used as a summer camp and annual gathering spot for Native American Indians, and three burial mounds remain in the park as a visible reminder of their presence. Glacial lakes provide more than 3,000 acres of prime fishing grounds, home to walleye, perch, northern pike and bullhead. A fishing pier near the campground offers excellent shore fishing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. The park's modern boat ramp provides lake access to anglers and recreational boaters alike. Miles of rugged trails and an educational interpretive trail allow you to explore. A warming house with wood-burning stove provides shelter and heat to cross-country skiers and other winter visitors. Recommended Activities
