Crawford State Park ![]() Southeast Kansas is noted for its lush, wooded country, and nine miles north of Girard lies a perfect example of the beauty in this landscape - Crawford State Park. While small in comparison to other state parks (the lake is 150 acres, and the park is 500), Crawford draws visitors from Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Campgrounds, including electrical hookups, boat ramps, bathhouses, and a marina make ample accommodations for a park this size. A sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and an interpretive nature trail add to other recreational opportunities, including pleasure boating, scuba diving, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The Crawford Triathlon is a popular annual event.
