Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit ![]() This is the southern of two state forest units that interpret the glacial and geological history of Wisconsin.
The glaciers of the last Ice Age left 21,000 acres of rolling hills, numerous lakes, and glacial features including kames, eskers, kettles, and interlobate moraine. Humans have since contributed beaches and boat launches, picnic areas and campgrounds, and trails for horses, mountain bikes, snowmobiles, cross-country skiing, and hiking.
