Santa Clara/Mojave Rivers Ranger District (Mojave Portion)
Dense forests of firs, cedars, and pines create a richly woven tapestry which delicately drapes the rough, jagged ridges of the San Gabriels. Leaping waterfalls, sheer canyons, and playful streams abound on the south side of the range while the north facing slope is more sparse, arid, and shrublike. Dizzying vistas accompany almost every hike, and open forest understories provide freedom of motion along trails.

Permit Information
Adventure Passes are required for your vehicle if you park on Forest lands. Daily Pass - $5; Annual Pass - $30 (good for one year from the month of purchase). Buy them at Valyermo Ranger Station and Grassy Hollow Vistor Center.

Directions
From Los Angeles, drive north on I-5 to Hwy. 2, following it northeast into the Forest. This region is located past the LA River Ranger District on the north side of the Forest.

Information Center
The Grassy Hollow Visitor Center is located on Highway 2, 6 miles west of the town of Wrightwood, CA. Valyermo Ranger Station is located at 29835 Valyermo Rd. in the town of Valyermo.
