North Rim
From the North Rim, visitors can peer down into the dusty canyon below. The red sheer, vertical walls create a stark contrast against the deep, royal blue of the Colorado sky. North Rim Drive has 4 overlooks from which to view Canyon de Chelly. Allow 2 hours to drive from the Visitor Center to the last overlook (16-mile distance).

Directions
From Chinle, drive east on Hwy. 7 to the junction of North Rim and South Rim Drives. North Rim Drive is the left-hand fork.

Information Center
The visitor center is located at the junction of North Rim and South Rim Drive. It is 3 miles (4.8 km) from Route 191 in Chinle.
