Clearwater National Forest

Palouse
The Palouse Corridor, while forested, borders the rolling hills of the rich farmland known as the Palouse prairie. In the Palouse corridor itself are stands of old-growth cedar, grand fir and western white pine. Standing under a giant white pine or ancient cedar, feeling their timelessness, is one of the joys of the Palouse corridor, an area well-suited for people of all ages.

Permit Information
No permit needed.

Directions
State Hwy. 6 from Potlatch east and north to the St. Joe Divide and State Hwy. 8 from Deary to Elk River both run through the corridor.

Information Center
There are information centers at Potlatch on Hwy. 6 near I-95 and one at St. Maries on Hwy. 3 between Plummer and Clarkia.
