Isle au Haut
Hiking trails guide you along the coast and through the small inland mountains of Isle au Haut.

The only way to access Isle au Haut is by passenger ferry from Stonington. During the summer the ferry stops at both Town Landing and Duck Harbor Landing; in the winter it just stops at Town Landing. During the summer you may camp at Duck Harbor with a $25 special use permit.

Permit Information
You need a special permit to camp at Duck Harbor, 5/15-10/15.

No backcountry camping is permitted in Acadia.

Directions
Take the passenger ferry from Stonington, located 36 miles south of Ellsworth on 172 to 15.
