Oconaluftee
The Mountain Farm Museum of Oconaluftee is a collection of historic log buildings gathered from throughout the Smoky Mountains and preserved on a single site. Buildings include a house, barn, applehouse, spring house, and smokehouse.

Mingus Mill, a working historic grist mill, is located 1/2 mile north of Oconaluftee and is open daily April through October.



Permit Information
Free backcountry camping permits are available at the Oconaluftee Visitor Center just off US 441.

Directions
Oconaluftee is located along US 441 about 1 mile north of Cherokee, North Carolina.

Information Center
The Oconaluftee Visitor Center is located just off of US 441. Rangers are available to provide visitor information, and a bookstore carries a good selection of field guides, maps, and other publications.
