Rochester, Syracuse and Binghamton are all within a 2 hour drive of the Forest which is easily accessed from 1-90 and 1-81 and State Route 17. From Rutland, US Highway 7 north leads you to the west side of the forest while taking State Highway 100 will lead you to the east side of the forest.
