From Denver, take I-70 west for 30 miles and pick up US 40 north and follow it for 50 miles to Granby. At Granby, take Colorado 125 north about 55 miles to the refuge. From Fort Collins take US 287 north 5 miles to Colorado 14 west. Follow it 85 miles to Walden, pick up Colorado 125 south and take it 8 miles to the refuge.
