From Trenton, take Rt. 206 north. In Mendham, pick up Hwy. 24 east. Take that into Morristown to Convent Station. From the western edge of Fairleigh Dickinson University on Main St. (local Rte 24) in Convent Station, turn south (the only way you can go) on Kitchell Rd. In one mile, turn right to enter Loantaka Brook Reservation, where there is parking, rest rooms, water, and a picnic area. The trip starts here.
