There are many access points to the Florida National Scenic Trail.

The Florida National Scenic Trail begins in Big Cypress National Preserve. I-75, state road 29, and U.S. 41 all travel through the preserve. The western terminus of the Florida National Scenic Trail is at the Fort Pickens Area of Gulf Islands National Seashore. To reach Fort Pickens, take U.S. 98 east from Pensacola across Pensacola Bay to Gulf Breeze. Take FL 399 from Gulf Breeze to Pensacola Beach. From there, Fort Pickens is 9 miles west.
