Breadloaf Wilderness

From Middlebury, drive south on US 7 to East Middlebury (~4 miles); turn east on 125 and continue to Middleury Gap (~16 miles). This is one of the trailheads of the Long Trail, the main way to access Breadloaf Wilderness.

The best accesses are the Long Trail and its side trails, entering the Wilderness at the following points: Lincoln Gap on the Lincoln Gap Road; Middlebury Gap on Route 125; Forest Road 59: Burnt Hill and Skylight Pond Trails; Forest Road 201: Emily Proctor and Cooley Glen Trails; Forest Road 39: Hancock Branch; Forest Road 55: Clark Brook Trail; Route 100: Austin Brook.
