Operating Hours
Trails are open from sunrise to sunset, except for designated night skiing.

Visitation

Permits
Use of horseback trails requires an annual Parks Patron permit ($25 - includes trail tag upon request) or a $5 daily pass for each rider age 16 or older.

Minnesota State Law requires all cross-country skiers ages 16 and older to be licensed when skiing in Hennepin Parks. Passes are available at the ski barn and nature center.

Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Center: The Lowry Nature Center is home to 'Habitats,' a unique educational play area that features larger-than-life flowers to climb on, dragonfly eyes to peer through, and a beaver lodge to sit in. The historic Grimm Farm is also an historical/interpretive feature of the park.

Programs: The Lowry Nature Center provides a wide variety of nature-oriented programming for school children, adults, and families. There are also numerous evening campfire programs.

Food Supplies and Concessions
Food/Supplies: There is no food available. Restaurants and stores are located in surrounding towns.

Concessions: Snowshoe rentals are available.
