Permits
Backcountry camping permit required, from Seashore Visitor Information Center in the North District. Fee: $5/site per night; $10 for groups of 7 or more. Permits only issued on the day camping begins, for beach camping, and up to 7 days in advance for lagoon island camping. For availability: call (904) 428-3384.

Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Centers: The Seashore Visitor Information Center, 7 miles south of New Smyrna Beach on Route A1A, has exhibits, schedules, publications, and an orientation program; call (904) 428-3384 for more information. The Refuge Information Center, 4 miles east of Titusville on Route 402, has visitor information, exhibits, and publications; call (407) 861-0667 for more information.

Programs: In the North District, year-round ranger-led programs include walks, talks, canoe programs, and seasonal "Sea Turtle Watch" programs. Reservations are required for the canoe and Turtle Watch programs.

Food Supplies and Concessions
Food/Supplies: There are no food or supplies available within the National Seashore. There are restaurants and grocery stores in surrounding communities.

Concessions: There is a small bookstore at the Canaveral National Seashore Visitor Center in the North District, which is managed by the Eastern National Parks and Monument Association. Boat rentals are available just outside the North District of the park.

Visitor Impact
Pets must be kept on a leash while visiting the park, and are not allowed on the beach or in public buildings. Vehicles, glass containers, and metal detectors are not allowed on the beach.

South District may be closed because of Kennedy Space Center Operations; call (407) 867-4077 before visiting this area near the time of a launch.

The park closes when the parking lots are full, which occurs during most summer weekends.
