Open year-round.

Visitation
Highest in fall when bugs are less of a nuisance.

Permits
No backcountry permit is required. A Vermont fishing license is required for fishing.

Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Center: There is no visitor center or ranger station in George D. Aiken Wilderness. The nearest ranger station is in the Manchester Ranger District in the Green Mountain National Forest. From Bennington, drive north Rt. 7.

Food Supplies and Concessions
Food/Supplies: Food and supplies may be purchased in surrounding communities.

Visitor Impact
Carry a good insect repellent during the spring and summer because this is one of the most buggy areas on the Forest!

Visitors are advised to bring rubber boots. This wilderness is perpetually wet and muddy.
