Operating Hours
Open year-round; some roads closed in winter.

Visitation
Highest in July and August; lowest in December, January and February.

Permits
No backcountry camping is permitted in Acadia.

Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Center: The Hulls Cove Visitor Center on Mount Desert Island offers visitor information, a film, various publications, and activity schedules.

Programs: From late May to mid-October, park rangers lead interpretive walks, cruises, talks, hikes, and evening slide programs highlighting the geology, marine ecology, wildlife, plant life, and human history of Acadia.

Food Supplies and Concessions
Food/Supplies: There is food service available in the park, and supplies are available in nearby towns.

Concessions: There are carriage tours along the scenic carriage roads, narrated bus and trolley tours, and gift shops.

Visitor Impact
To prevent Acadia from being loved to death, please stay on the trails; bike on the carriage roads, not the hiking trails; keep dogs on leashes; and turn off car and bus engines, instead of idling.
