Permits
Permits are not needed for camping or hiking; they are required for beach campfires and overnight fishing. Obtain permits at park visitor centers. Must have valid Cape Cod National Seashore Off road Vehicle Permit for oversand vehicle use.
Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Center: There are 2 visitor centers: Salt Pond Visitor Center off Route 6 in Eastham, and Province Lands Visitor Center off Race Point Road in the Provincelands. Both visitor centers provide orientation movies, exhibits, a bookstore, and information services.
Programs: Interpretive ranger programs are offered on a daily basis from mid-May to Columbus Day. During summer upwards of 40 different programs are offered weekly, ranging from guided hikes along the beach to historic house tours and campfire programs. Programs are also offered intermittently in the off-season.
Food Supplies and Concessions
Food/Supplies: Food services and stores are available in all of the towns adjoining the Cape Cod National Seashore.
Concessions: Campgrounds are operated by concessionaires and Eastern National, a non-profit association, operates sales facilities for books and thematically related items at the Salt Pond Visitor Center and the Province Lands Visitor Center.
Visitor Impact
All Seashore beaches (beyond posted seasonal nesting and lifeguard zones) and fire roads are accessible to pets year round. Pets are not allowed on National Seashore bike trails, designated nature trails, lifeguard protected beaches, shoreline nesting areas, and fresh water ponds (from May 15 - Oct. 15).
