Permits
Free backcountry permit required for overnight stay, issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Must be obtained in person on the first day of your trip or the day before, at the Wilderness Information Center in Marblemount; Golden West Visitor Center (for Stehekin Valley hikes); or Glacier Public Service Center (for Mt. Baker Hwy. hikes).
Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Center:The Golden West Visitor Center is located at Stehekin Landing. Here, the Golden West Gallery presents arts, crafts and programs by local and regional artists.
Food Supplies and Concessions
Food/Supplies: The North Cascades Stehekin Lodge offers a restaurant, store and gasoline at Stehekin Landing.
Concessions: The North Cascades Stehekin Lodge also offers boat moorage, bus tours and bicycle and boat rentals at Stehekin Landing. Other businesses provide services during the summer season, including transportation, day and overnight horseback trips into the wilderness, bicycle rentals, and guided raft trips down the Stehekin River.
