Permits
6 primitive campsites are located along a 39-mile hiking trail. Reservations are taken up to 11 months in advance. $3 per person per night for adults. Children under 18 are $2.
Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Center: The Visitor Center shows Myakka Movies, about how the park is restoring one of our country's rarest communities - Florida dry prairie.
Programs: Park Rangers offer Beginning Birding classes at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays from Thanksgiving to Easter. On a ranger-led walk, you will explore shady hammocks, sunny prairies or a winding riverbank. The park also holds campfire programs.
Food Supplies and Concessions
Concessions: Myakka Wildlife Tours runs scenic cruises on the Upper Myakka Lake that help you gain an understanding of the intricate workings of this natural ecosystem in progress. Canoes may be rented from Myakka River Outpost.
Visitor Impact
Hunting, livestock grazing and timber removal are not permitted. Do not remove, deface, mutilate or molest any natural resources. For your safety, do not feed any animals. Intoxicants and firearms are prohibited.
