Backcountry camping permits must be obtained at the Visitors Center.

Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Center: The Visitor Center, which is open year-round (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas), is located just inside the southeast entrance of the park on Golden Gate Canyon Road. Displays interpret the geology, wildlife and plants of the area. Featured at the Visitor Center is the Wilbur and Nellie Larkin Memorial Nature Trail which winds around the park's rainbow trout show pond.

Programs: Interpretive programs are presented at the park throughout the summer.
