Permits
A valid Virginia fishing license is required for fishing from the lake.
Visitors Center and Programs
Programs: Interpretive programs include campfire talks, night hikes, "Crafts and More," nature walks, Willis River canoe tour, slide shows, campfire sing-alongs, children's programs, bike tours, Bear Creek Lake canoe tours.
Food Supplies and Concessions
Food/Supplies: The swimming beach is complete with a bathhouse and concession operation featuring a wide range of sandwiches, snacks and drinks. No restaurant, but a small market just outside the park entrance carries a limited supply of grocery items and some camping supplies. The Town of Cumberland located on Route 60 approximately 7 miles from the park has two small grocery stores, a post office, convenience stores and several small restaurants.
Concessions: Boat rentals and bike rentals are available daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day.Trolling motors are also available for rent.
