Maybury State Park ![]() Maybury Farm, located in southeast Michigan, will give you a glimpse of agricultural life in the early 1900's. During this era, over 90% of the US population was involved in agriculture. Many farm families raised their own meat, vegetables, fruit, grain, and hay, while selling any surplus products to market. On a visit to Maybury you may see cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits, and poultry. Baby animals are born at various times throughout the year. A large vegetable garden, as well as herb and flower gardens, are tended in season by farm staff. Typical farm field crops are planted in nearby demonstration plots as well as in the larger farm fields. Much of the work is done with draft horses. Maybury Farm hosts several annual special events, as well as weekday group tours (by appointment) for schools and other groups. In the summer there are programs and classes for children and adults. Horse-drawn hayrides are offered (for a fee) each weekend in the fall from 1-4 pm.
