Frontcountry camping is not available. Limited backcountry camping ($5/site/night) is permitted on the beach November 1 through April 30, and on designated islands all year. Most of the sites can only be reached by boat or canoe. The entire length of the beach is closed to backcountry camping from May 1 to October 31 to protect the sea turtle during its nesting period. Group sites cost $10 for groups of 7 or more. Backcountry camping permits required. Permits are only issued on the day camping begins, for beach camping, and up to 7 days in advance for lagoon island camping.
