A variety of privately-operated campgrounds are available within and around Dartmoor National Park, ranging from primitive tent sites on farms to full-service trailer sites, and are listed in The Dartmoor Visitor obtainable from information centres.

Camping on the open moor is permitted if in keeping with the Backpacking Code of Conduct obtainable from the High Moorland Visitor Centre in Princetown, Yelverton, Plymouth.
