Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park


Park campgrounds are located in the oak woodlands of the warm, dry foothills and in the higher, cooler conifer forests. Lodgepole, Dorst, Grant Grove and Atwell Mill Campgrounds are near giant sequoia groves. 4 campgrounds are open year-round. Most campgrounds in Sequoia & Kings Canyon are first-come, first-served. Lodgepole and Dorst campgrounds in Sequoia National Park accept reservations up to 5 months in advance for the period of mid-May to mid-October. Contact 1-800-365-2267. For reservations at some U.S. Forest Service campgrounds, contact 1-877-444-6777.



Buckeye Flat

No trailers or RVs. Elevation 2800'. One mile via a side road from Hospital Rock (6 miles from Highway 198/park entrance). Closed fall through spring.

Atwell Mill
