Bitterroot National Forest

Lake Como
Lake Como is a natural lake that was dammed in the early part of this century as part of a major irrigation project. Today, the lake is the most intensively-used water recreation site on the Bitterroot National Forest.

Magruder Backcountry Road
This single-lane road was travelled by Chief Joseph and his Nez Perce tribe, and features interpretive sites telling of highway robbery and massacre.

Salmon River
The Salmon River provides exciting opportunities for fishermen and boaters.

Selway River
This hefty river is one of the best known features of the area. It offers 47 miles of wild, rollicking white water surrounded by the solitude and primitive beauty that can only be experienced in wilderness.
