Yosemite National Park

Bridalveil Fall
The Pohono Indians named this cascade the "fall of the puffing wind" due to the effect of gentle breezes on its falling waters.

El Capitan
A sheer granite cliff face rising to an elevation of 7,569 feet, El Capitan is a challenge for the most talented of rock climbers.

Half Dome
Yosemite's most distinctive feature rises 4,733 feet to dominate the valley view. At only 87 million years old it is the youngest plutonic rock in the valley. A hike to the top of Half Dome is a strenuous walk, an intimidating climb, and a rewarding view.

Mariposa Grove
The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, located at the southernmost end of Yosemite, is the largest stand of giant sequoias in the park.

Yosemite Falls
Yosemite Falls is the tallest in North America. In early spring and summer the ground shakes as the waters from this tremendous waterfall pound the valley floor, and in winter a large snow cone piles at its base, breaking its tumbling descent.
