Glacers and glacial lakes
Massive bodies of ice have transformed Glacier National Park into a dramatic example of glacial landforms. Today several small alpine glaciers of relatively recent origin dot the mountains.
Mountaineering in CO Rocky Mountains
The trail lies high on the peaks of the Continental Divide in Colorado, and is known to include some of the toughest backcountry in the world. The highest point of the entire trail is here, at 14,230 feet.
Old Faithful Geyser
In Yellowstone National Park, the trail crosses between the glassy, blue-green surface of Yellowstone Lake and the white rapids of the Firehole River, wanders past the 140-foot explosions of Old Faithful Geyser and traverses the Summit Lake Trail.
